The work:

Director of UI Design, Qualys the leading security SaaS company.

QualysGuard Web Application Firewall (WAF) Provides Protection and Increased Performance for Business Critical Web Sites. The new service, provides protection against known and emerging web application threats and increases web site performance through caching, compression and content optimization to subscribers anywhere in the world, affordably and with no equipment needed.

This product was launched with much fan faire at RSA in March 2012.

The work:

Senior Art Director, Fortune Cookie
As lead creative for the UEFA.com redesign (the worldwide go-to site for European football) I relied on dedicated research documents for my design, including:
• ethnographic studies
• competitor analysis and benchmarking
• online survey in 6 languages that attracted 7000+ responses
• expert reviews and analytics to benchmark current site performance
• analysis of previous research and insights
• Tobi eye-tracking studies to identify tasks and user journeys

The new UEFA.com was an Official Honoree in the Sports category at The 14th Annual Webby Awards.

Small Luxury Hotels on iPhone

The work:

Head of Design, Fortune Cookie
As head of design, Fortune Cookie developed an iPhone booking and information app for SLH guests. Supported by rich imagery and information, the app enables guests to book their stay at any SLH hotel direct from their iPhone or iPod Touch.
Functionality centres on 3 key elements:
• discover the world
• enjoy the surrounding area
• share their experiences

The results:

Enables guests to engage with SLH at every stage of their journey – from finding the right property to suit their needs, to using the app to enhance their experience while staying at the property, to sharing the experience when they return.

National Rail Enquiries

The work:

Senior Art Director, Fortune Cookie
Nationalrail.co.uk is the UK’s fourth busiest travel website, with 7 million users a month. To understand travellers’ experiences we interviewed passengers on platforms, talked to call centre staff and undertook extensive user testing.

The results:

The increase of the Web site stats are impressive
• 300% increase in online registrations

This product launch was for the security world, and was required to be as easy and simple as possible because it is a major lead-gen piece for the Qualys sales team. FreeScan will perform a comprehensive scan and let you know instantly where you’re at risk.

This was launched with much fain faire in December 2011, and lead-generation have improved.

This was a challenge due to the nature of rich media ‘online telly’ audience expecting a lot. What we delivered was amazing, here are some highlights.
• 16 weeks from kick-off to testing

Europcar on MS Surface

The work:

Senior Art Director, Fortune Cookie
We developed a multi-touch application for Windows 7 to run on Microsoft Surface tables at Europcar stations.
Customers can use the system to:
• get local information and plan a route for their onward journey
• print directions and maps to help them explore
• plan theme-based circular routes – for example, history or gastronomy – to take in local attractions
• access special offers from Europcar partners

The application won the ‘Innovation in User Experience’ award in the 2010 Econsultancy Innovation Awards.

The results:

Europcar is the first travel company in Europe to offer the use of Microsoft Surface tables, and multi-touch application for Windows 7.

The work:

Football fever is a global phenomenon: 50% of UEFA’s audience lie outside Europe, reflecting the worldwide appeal of club and international competitions such as the Champions League and EURO 2012.

After designing the Pictet Funds site, my team built a language-agnostic styleguide which we delivered to the global development teams located in various counties around the world.

The results:

Designed in 18 months, and built in about 12, this was one of the biggest Fund Advisor sites in Switzerland.

LTA – British Tennis

The work:

Senior Art Director, Fortune Cookie
We implemented the EPiServer content management system and worked with the LTA to plan and build a site that would support a constantly evolving web infrastructure, with the flexibility to handle multiple media types and the robustness to cope with very high usage and rapid growth.

The LTA site was the only British website honoured in the Association section of the Webby Awards 2009.

The results:

• player searches increased 19%
• tournament searches 148%
• ranking searches a massive 167%.

This was a pleasure to design, because I like to sail and I was able to design and discuss as a avid sailor. The site is inspiration and warms the holiday spirit with large ocean filled photos.
